Bishop's Temple Schedule:
Upcoming Events:
Spring Cleanup: Thursday, April 18th
The Elders Quorum and Young Men will be heading around to collect your household junk, yard waste, metal, and bulky furniture to haul it off to the Rock Canyon dumpsters. Just make sure to have everything out on your curb by 8:00 AM so we don't miss you—though please keep in mind we can't take liquids, auto parts, appliances with coolant, or heavy materials like concrete and dirt. If you have any questions or have a truck or trailer you’re willing to lend for the morning, give Ethan Grabau a call at 713-560-4102.
From the Temple and Family History Committee:
Heavenly Father has sent His children to earth for more than six millennia. Most of these people have not yet received the ordinances that would qualify them for eternal life. That is why temples are so significant. That is why the gathering of Israel on both sides of the veil is the most important cause on earth today. (Russell M. Nelson, “Choices for Eternity”)
“The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. His essential ordinances bind us to Him through sacred priesthood covenants. Then, as we keep our covenants, He endows us with His healing, strengthening power. And oh, how we will need His power in the days ahead.
If you don’t yet love to attend the temple, go more often—not less. Let the Lord, through His Spirit, teach and inspire you there. I promise you that over time, the temple will become a place of safety, solace, and revelation.
...to each of you who has made temple covenants, I plead with you to seek—prayerfully and consistently—to understand temple covenants and ordinances. Spiritual doors will open. You will learn how to part the veil between heaven and earth, how to ask for God’s angels to attend you, and how better to receive direction from heaven. Your diligent efforts to do so will reinforce and strengthen your spiritual foundation.” (President Russell M. Nelson, “The Temple and Your Spiritual Foundation”)
